Common conditions

Low Back Pain

Many of our patients suffer from low back pain as a result of regular activities of daily living, such as housework or yard work. Some have injuries due to a work related incident or a car accident. Low back pain can also be a result of improper sitting or lifting, overexertion, trauma or inherited spine abnormalitites.

Another cause of back pain can be a result of a bulging or herniated disc which is putting pressure on the spinal cord or nerve root close by. Symptoms may include numbness or tingling, dull ache or pain down the leg.

Through a series of specific chiropractic adjustments your chiropractor aims to help restore a more normal position and range of motion of the spinal bones.

Mid Back Pain

One of the most common complaints of back pain, is mid back pain.  This can be a result of sitting in the car for a long period of time or common everyday activities such as carrying a child,  reaching while lifting, or poor posture.

Symptoms may include muscle tightness and spasms, restricted range of motion or sharp and stabbing pain in the back that may radiate to the front.

By using their hands or a small instrument your chiropractor will perform a spinal adjustments to help reposition the bones of the skeletal system.

Neck Pain and Headaches

Do you have a "stiff neck" or trouble turning your head without pain? Do you experience constant throbbing in your neck, or is there a "grinding" sound as you turn your head? Do you have frequent or constant headahes? These are all symptoms of a possible  malfunction of the spinal bones in the neck and upper back.

You chiropractor will take special attention to the structure and function of your cervical spine and through a series of careful adjustments improve your neck function and reduce your pain.

Sciatica

The sciatic nerves are the largest nerves of the body. They run down the back of each leg  and can become inflamed, irritated or damaged by improper spinal alignment. Symptoms of sciatic nerve impingement is intense pain shooting down either or both legs.

Your chiropractor will take the approach of carefully directed and controlled pressure to remove the interference from the spinal structure on the nerve. This will in time reduce the nerve irritation and associated pain.
